What is BSc Hotel Management?

B.Sc. Hotel Management (Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management) is a 3-year (divided into 6 semesters) undergraduate degree program. Hotel Management is a popular degree all around the world.

B.Sc Hotel Management Course is a combination of Hospitality and Tourism management, Arts and Science, etc. The Candidates are taught to develop a basic understanding of the functioning of the Hotel Administration, its environment and management, with the skills and tools necessary to successfully manage the hotel in the beginning year and more advanced in the following years.

After Course completion one can pursue job profiles such as hotel manager, food and beverage manager, chef, etc. or can go for Post graduation in Hotel Management such as MSc Hotel Management, Masters of Hotel Management (MHM), Masters of Tourism and Hotel Management (MTHM), etc.

A B.Sc Hotel Management graduate can get entry-level jobs as a trainee with salary range between Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,0000 per month and an experienced one can get above Rs. 45,000 per month according to their specialization field.

The fee structure of B.Sc. Hotel Management is around Rs. 33,500 per semester (taken consider of University of Calicut) The fee may change according to the type colleges you opt whether it is aided or unaided.

About Common Course: In Semester 1&2 there two common course in English and a Second Language (Select as per your choice) along with Core Subjects.

About Project Work:During the final year, you have to submit your Main Project. The project shall be done individually and you can choose any topic from the subjects that you have studied. The project should be submitted one month before the end of sixth semester.
