What is B.COM?

B.Com or Bachelor of Commerce is a 3-year undergraduate degree program that provides a wide range of managerial skills and understanding in streams like finance, accounting, taxation, and management. B.Com is the second most popular undergraduate course in the Commerce branch.

After completion of B.com, ample job opportunities are available both in public and private sector industries. Jobs for B.com graduates involves knowledge of accounts, economics, and finance and various other jobs available are teaching jobs, government jobs (accounts officer, cashier, etc.), making books of accounts (accounting); filing of tax returns, auditing jobs (internal or external), preparing cost budgets and analyzing market trends, etc.

A fresher can earn an average of Rs.10,000 to Rs.25,000 per month and above according to the employment field. Or after completion of B.Com one can pursue: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Chartered Accountancy (CA), Company Secretary (CS), Master of Commerce (M.Com), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Business Accounting and Taxation (BAT), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), US Certified Public Accounting (CPA), Financial Risk Manager (FRM), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Financial Planner, Certificate in Investment Banking (CIB), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), Digital Marketing, etc.

The tuition fee for B.com is around Rs. 9,000 (taken consider of University of Calicut), The fee can vary according to the type of colleges whether it is aided or unaided (Government based or Private College based).

The eligibility for B.Com admission is a 50% score in 12th in commerce background. The minimum eligibility criteria can also vary for different colleges.

About Common Course: In Semester 1&2 there two common course in English and a Second Language (Select as per your choice) along with Core Subjects.

 

About Project:During the final year students have to choose any topic areas from the subjects he/she has studied for doing project. The candidate shall prepare and submit a project report for evaluation. The duration of project work will be three weeks.
