What is BA Functional English?
BA Functional English (Bachelor of Arts in Functional English) is a 3-Year Undergraduate degree program divided into 6 semesters which aims to build students Communication Skills, Writing Skills, etc. in English language to an advanced level.
A BA Functional English degree will provide you with knowledge in the basic language skills (Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing). The Course covers wide variety of areas in Linguistics like Grammar and Phonetics.
As English is the Universal Language the Opportunities for Jobs is also high. A good Communication skill in English can get you vast variety of Jobs. A graduate in BA Functional English can find his Career in the fields of Managerial posts like Associate Community Manager, Technical Account Manager, Cross Functional Marketing Manager or work as a Media Writer, Content Writer for Organizations, Copy Writer, Technical Account Assistant, Teacher, Correlation Specialist, Bilingual Translator & Interpreter etc.
After the completion of BA Functional English you can go for post-graduation degrees such as MA Functional English, MA English Literature, MA Gender Studies, MA Mass Communication and Journalism, Master of Social Work (MSW) etc. or even an MBA.

About Common Course: In Semester 1&2 there two common course in English and a Second Language (Select as per your choice) along with Core Subjects.
About Complementary Course: There are two Complementary Courses in first four Semesters which is Literature in English and Cultural Studies. They are Type I and Type II respectively and it depends on colleges to choose either of them to be Type I or Type II.
About Project Work: During the final year (sixth semester), you have to submit your main project.
There would be options for you to choose what kind of project you want do for project. (Option would be given from your college.)
