What is BSc Botany?

BSc Botany or Bachelor of Science in Botany is  a 3-Year (6 Semesters) under-graduate course which focuses on the study of plants and their physiology. This course covers areas in specialized scientific study of plants, algae, fungi and their Anatomy in detail.

BSc Botany broadly covers various aspects of plants such as their growth, reproduction, disease, metabolism, structure and chemical properties of plants.

The Core Subjects that you have to study when opting BSc Botany are Genetics and Plant breeding, Plant physiology and Metabolism, Cell biology and Biochemistry, Tissue Culture, Horticulture, Phycology, Bryology, Microbiology, Mycology, Lichenology and Plant Pathology, Angiosperm and gymnosperms, etc.

A BSc Botany graduate can find Job opportunities in this as a Plant Pathologist, Plant Explorer, Ecologist, Botanist, Conservationist, Biological Technician, Ecologist, Environment Consultant, Molecular Biologist, Plant Biochemist, etc. or can go for in the field of research.
